Iterations of Success – not Mistakes!

Ideation in design thinking is where we have the light bulb effect. Brainstorming an idea with a team or even one other person can help us have that “a-ha” effect. This is what we all go for – the moment that syncs all the ideas together into something we can try. There is so much power and energy in the synergistic sharing of ideas that when you are a part of it you can’t stay seated and you can’t help but get excited.

At the beginning of this school year I shared with my team a hope to reframe the concept of mistakes. We shared ideas about how that would look – no mistakes, just iterations of success.

Lower School Professional Development

The Lower School faculty participated in a variety of professional development sessions. Teachers expanded and refined their knowledge of M^3 (Moriah Multi Modal), explored new Torah curriculums, developed educational Benchmarks and planned engaging lessons with their colleagues.

The entire Lower School faculty collaborated in a lively and informative workshop about Multi-Modal Classrooms. Teachers enjoyed learning from each other and are eager to bring what they learned into their classrooms.

First Graders Begin BOLD!

This week the First Grade students began the integrated technology and teacher directed model of learning for their Language Arts Curriculum. Working in their newly remodeled classrooms, the students rotated daily in (3) blocks between a teacher directed skill based lesson, individualized digital content and an independent station with a second teacher.The children embraced this rotation learning style with enthusiasm. Overheard time and time again, “This is fun!”
